Employee Spotlight: Meet Marcus

Hi Marcus! Let’s start with a little introduction, tell us about yourself. Where are you from originally, and how’s life in Singapore?

Hello! I’m Marcus from Singapore — a born and bred Singaporean living the everyday life that many of us here can relate to, working hard and making sure to enjoy the little things around us. Of course, one of the most important things for me, is the ongoing mission of finding the best food spots in Singapore and I take that very seriously!

Honorable mission, Marcus! Tell us about your journey to Blue Wireless. What brought you here, career-wise and interest-wise? And what’s the most exciting part about working at Blue Wireless Singapore?

Before joining Blue Wireless, I worked in the construction industry as an Account Executive, and I enjoyed my time there. But when COVID-19 pandemic hit, it made me realize just how essential connectivity and IT was to us. Being a bit of a tech nerd, I started diving deeper into the importance of connectivity and how it, combined with IoT, has transformed the world we live in today. That curiosity sparked a new passion in me, and I decided to pursue a career in tech sales. Despite my limited experience, I was blessed that Blue Wireless saw potential in me and welcomed me into the team as an Account Manager. Since then, I’ve enjoyed every single moment — from working closely with customers to collaborating with my amazing internal team.

Blue Wireless enjoys your presence as well! What does your role involve, and how has the team evolved since you started?

As an Account Manager, my role focuses mainly on nurturing existing relationships with our partners and finding ways to expand our product offerings into their portfolios, helping them secure deals and drive success. Since I joined, the team has grown tremendously.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? Any favorite books, music, or TV series? Hobbies or sports?

If you find me outside work, you’ll likely find me occupied in one of my many hobbies! I’m passionate about playing darts, gaming, and practicing Muay Thai! Unfortunately, I’ve been taking a bit of a break from rock climbing and bouldering after an unfortunate shoulder dislocation during a sparring session. (Ouch!) Currently, I’m focused on Path of Exile 2 while being a total noob at the game. The storyline and gameplay are the reason why I can’t stop playing it. (Hit me up if you’re keen to play together).
